However, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in many districts of the state for the next five days, from this afternoon to noon on September 12, according to a warning issued by the Bhubaneswar-based Regional Meteorological Center.

According to the alert, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, i.e. by noon on the 8th, in one of the districts of inland Odisha and one or two places in coastal Odisha. Thunderstorms are expected in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Baleshwar and Bhadrak districts during this period.

Similarly, thunderstorms are expected in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Anugul, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Nayagarh and Khordha districts by noon on the 9th.

By noon on the 10th, most parts of Odisha's districts are likely to receive light to moderate rain or thunderstorms. Thunderstorms are expected in Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Devgarh, Sundergarh, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal districts during this period. Heavy rains are likely in one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Kandhamal and Kalahandi districts.
